Social Good is a small but mighty giving advisory founded by Lisa Kingman OAM.
We help PAFs and philanthropists maximise the impact of their giving, with clarity, rigour and heart.
Lisa is one of Australia’s most respected independent advisors, with more than three decades working at the coal face of social change. She was awarded an Order of Australia in 2021 for her contribution to community and business, and named one of the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence in 2018.
As former CEO of Tanarra Social Purpose, Lisa led a team delivering pro bono strategic and financial advice to hundreds of small to mid-sized charities, work commercially valued at more than $3.5 million. During this time, she developed the free online Board Health Check, now used by more than 300 charities and social enterprises to strengthen board performance.
She also created the national campaign What Makes a Great Charity, bringing together 30+ foundations to publicly share what they value most in the organisations they fund, many for the first time.
Over 10 years as an independent advisor to public and private companies, Lisa supported 50 corporations in managing hundreds of charity partnerships worth an estimated $40 million. Her work has shaped outcomes across Indigenous organisations, education, health, social justice and the arts, in communities across Australia.
Lisa co-founded Timehelp, connecting more than 500 retirees as classroom volunteers and mentors in public schools. In 2014, Timehelp merged with a WA-based charity to form EdConnect, now Australia’s leading intergenerational volunteering charity in schools.
She holds a BA in Fine Art and is a practising contemporary artist. Her volunteer leadership roles have included Non-Executive Director of Gasworks Arts, Chair of Courthouse Youth Arts (Geelong), and founding member of Housing All Australians. In 2020, she was appointed to the Victorian Government’s Barwon Regional Partnership.
Lisa has also served as an independent member of the BHP Billiton Community Trust, Optus Community Panel, Viva Energy Indigenous Participation Panel, Shell Australia Community Committee and others.
Her long-standing commitment to First Nations communities is reflected in her support of Indigenous-led organisations, including Reconciliation Australia.
Lisa is a recipient of a Paul Newman Foundation Innovation Award for her charity work, and her clients have received numerous awards for their approach to social change under her guidance.
